Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does it take to get selected for the Health & Care Tech Program?

Your startup needs to meet the criteria mentioned in the program guide, namely a startup with a minimum of two committed co-founders, an innovative technology solution, and to be familiar with the CE marking process and deployment in a hospital environment.

  • Do I have to relocate to the Netherlands?

We are a regional tech incubator with locations in Delft, The Hague, and Rotterdam. Hereby, we can add value with our ecosystem to local startups. Even though our methodology could apply to your stage and could help your startup, our mission is to support the startups with the infrastructure we have here in The Netherlands.

  • How is the program structured?

This is a 6-week program. The first 2 weeks are designed to get you introduced to Erasmus MC and enable you to navigate your way through the organisation. In the following weeks, we host sessions with experts and organise deep dives on topics such as Medical Device Regulation, Finance & Funding and Pitching. Startups that managed to collaborate and create testing pilot programs or business collaborations with Erasmus MC will share their experiences and the barriers they had to overcome. Throughout the program the focus is on designing your pilot project with the Erasmus MC, in which you will be guided and supported by our startup coaches, experts, and your peers. On the Final Day you are ready to pitch your pilot to a large audience of nurses, managers, innovation supporters and investors.

  • What is the role of nurses and decision makers?

A group of enthusiastic Nurses and Decision Makers from Erasmus MC will attend a masterclass on how to work with startups before the start of this program. On the first program day, you will be matched with one of these nurses, who will be your ambassador in the hospital throughout the 6-weeks. The Decision Makers will be available to you during the expert sessions.

  • What is included if I get selected for the pilot with Erasmus MC?

First of all, participation in this program will increase your chances of collaborating with Erasmus MC as well as other hospitals and care providers in the region. Additionally, a maximum of 3 startups will be selected for a pilot. This is a tailored pilot that may consist of a project to further develop the proof of concept, an R&D collaboration, depending on the technology, development stage, business model, and needs. Because the hospital is publicly funded, these pilots will have to be financed by either seed-funding, grant or subsidy. If you don’t have this in place by the end of the program, the hospital will support you in the following months in an attempt to secure the necessary funding.
