Delft-based MedTech startup SLAM Ortho has secured €1.1 million in Innovation Credit from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) to further develop its ADEPTH® system – a sensor device for automated screw implant length measurement designed to assist trauma surgeons during fracture treatments.
With ADEPTH®, SLAM Ortho empowers surgeons with greater precision, improving patient outcomes. The funding will be used to finalize development, certify the technology, prepare it for market launch, and ensure it meets strict sterilization standards, including autoclave readiness.
The company has completed a first-in-human clinical study with Erasmus MC, the Netherlands’ largest trauma centre. The results are set to be published in two upcoming scientific papers.
Already, 15 hospitals in the Netherlands have shown strong interest in using the ADEPTH® system. SLAM Ortho expects the device to be available on the European market by early 2026, with U.S. expansion planned in the following years.
The successful funding round was supported by YES!Delft service partner Benedict Peax, with Peter Saarloos advising SLAM Ortho founder Just Schornagel throughout the submission process.
This milestone brings us one step closer to transforming surgical care for patients with fractures” –
Just Schornagel, Founder & CEO Slam Ortho.
