Introduction
aQysta has developed a hydropowered irrigation pump called the Barsha pump, which is propelled solely by water flow from rivers or irrigation canals. It requires no fuel or electricity and has minimal maintenance, resulting in significant cost savings. Launched commercially in 2016, dozens of units have been installed in Nepal, Turkey, Indonesia, Zambia, and Spain.
Now they help smallholder farmers build resilience to climate change. We promote organic farming and agroforestry instead of monocropping and chemical farming. They create access to renewable energy technologies for processing and irrigation.
